Course:  The Grind takes place in a truly unique setting, the 8.5 mile rolling course loops among spectacular former granite quarries on trails maintained by the Millstone Trails Association.  Just about the entire course is wooded so racers are shaded from the hot sun, single track and double track "pump track style trails" make up the bulk of the couse, with granite quarry rocks, and roots the natural ostacles on course!

The included post-race localvore meal (and awards ceremony with prizes/medals/cash) that takes place in the start/finish meadow with panoramic views of the valley below.  The meal includes green-salad, beer-brattworst or veggie thing, pasta salad. Harpoon IPC, iced coffee, and brownies...all local fare and you will be stuffed!!

Classes: USA Cycling Cat 3, Cat 2, Single Speed Open(race with Cat 2), Cat 1, Cat 1 Single Speed, Pro/Cat 1 Open Men and Women, as well as Clydesdale 200+ lbs. required, men only, and the Marathon Open class.

Registration:  Pre-register fee is $35.00 (+$3 for a 1 day USA Cycling license.

                     Day of Race fee $45.00 (+$3 for a 1 day USACycling license.

Registration includes:  Localvore lunch by Kismet, water bottle, and neutral fully-staffed feed zones.

 1 lap                   CAT 3  starts at  10:00 am

 2 laps                  CAT 2 starts at 10: 00 am

 3 laps                  PRO/CAT 1 starts at 12:00 pm

 4 laps                 MARATHON RACE starts at 12:00 pm

Directions:   From the south take I-91 North to Exit 10 N to merge onto I-89 North towards Barre/Montpelier. Take Exit 6 to merge onto VT-63 East towards VT-14/So. Barre/Barre.  Turn left at VT-14 N/S Barre Rd. Continue to follow Vt-14 N.  Turn right at Quarry St.  Continue onto Quarry Hill Rd.  Turn left at Websterville Rd.  Continue onto Church Hill Rd.  Continue onto Little John Rd.  Millstone Quarry will be on left.
